Pilates

Dr. Lori Schroeder, Pilates Plus ~ As a chiropractor, I was always interested in new approaches to fitness. I discovered Pilates as a result of 25 years of certifying and training fitness instructors in back and spine safety. I immediately fell in love with Pilates for many reasons. It works with balance and alignment of the spine and its extremities. No other fitness regime in the past could offer so much and be specifically tailored to an individuals needs. It was something that everyone could do from 9 to 99 years. The first time I tried it I was hooked. I was so excited to see and feel that Reformer Pilates had the right balance of strengthening, and stretching, coordination, breath awareness, spine & joint stabilization that other workouts were missing.

Pilates addressed using the “core” in all exercises to avoid injury. I knew instantly that it would be a perfect fit for all our patients. Today we can not only rehabilitate all types of injuries but then focus on your individual fitness needs as well. Whether you are a devoted grandmother with the goal is to simply play on the floor with your grandchildren or you are an elite athlete looking to in be or stay in the best physical condition. Pilates truly addresses the entire body instead of spot training like a lot of traditional gym equipment. As Chiropractors we work on balancing the spine and body and Pilates works the same way to create a body that is strong, lean and flexible without the high risk of injuries.
